» About MILK n Cookies
MILK n Cookies, is a creative little initiative that I have started fresh just this year, in 2009. I have a love for baking, and am constantly told by friends and family that I should be using my talents as a service for others! The idea of a cookie catering business came about when I seemed to be baking more than could be eaten in a single household! And so I decided to start sharing my baked goods with others. After many years of experimenting, collecting and changing up recipes, I feel ready to share these delicious treats with the world!

Cookies are for sure, my most favorite thing to bake! I love the versatility, and also the creativity that I can infuse them with. And with the artsy background that I have, I can't resist getting carried away in the possibilities they offer.

It is my intention to grow this business, but I don't see it growing past my own capabilities. I adore the idea that I can pride my cookies on being home and hand made, and that is the way I see it staying! However, I would love to see the selection of what I can offer, expand beyond my decorated butter cookies, and explore all sorts of variety. I would love to be able to offer options such as, freshly made icebox cookies, fancy dessert cookies, cocktail cookies, etc. I would even like to be able to offer my services to events such as birthday parties, where I can bring the cookies already baked, and all sorts of fun supplies for attendees to decorate them! About the Cookies:
My cookies are very similar to that of a basic "sugar cookie". Sugar cookies have a higher ratio of sugar, to butter, whereas my cookies have a higher ratio of butter, to sugar. This makes them lower in sugar, and better in regards to the creamy, melt-in-your-mouth flavor of butter! My recipe is very, very simple, which makes it easy for me to play around with and change, according to any one person's taste.

About Cookie Displays:
All of my cookies displays are unique! Since I don't have cookie cutters large enough, all of my displays are hand-cut with home-made stencils. I have no set prices for these displays, as they can vary greatly from one to the next, concerning the size, construction and materials used.

The construction can be changed to accomodate whatever you would like to place inside of the displays. If you would like it to hold flowers, chances are I would not put in a bottom, so that a small vase can be placed inside the display and hidden by the cookie. If you would like for there to be an arrangement of more, small cookies (on sticks), I can place a covered foam block inside of the display, for the cookies to stand up in. Of course, there are many options such as the crinkle-cut, colored, decorative papers to use as coverings, depending on what is in the display.

I'm open to ideas on these displays, so let me know if you have any great ideas!

About the Cow:
The lovely cow that you see up in the top left corner of your screen, was drawn by one of my good friends, Stacey! She drew it just for me. :) All I did was edit him a little bit, and gave him some color in Photoshop.
